We provide academic advising to nearly 4,000 students to support them in achieving their educational, personal, and professional goals. Primarily, LTSC prepares students to declare a degree-granting major at UMD.
Academic Advising for Spring 2025
LTSC Advisor Assignments for Spring 2025 will be completed by the week of February 10th, 2025. New students and returning students without an advisor will be contacted by their assigned LTSC advisor by email no later than Monday, February 17, 2025. If you do not have an assigned LTSC advisor, you can use LTSC Drop-in Advising.
If you are a returning student with an assigned LTSC advisor, please schedule an appointment with them via TerpEngage or email them if you need assistance. If you do not know who your assigned advisor is, email us at askltsc@umd.edu
Attention Newly-Admitted Letters & Sciences Students
The Office of Letters & Sciences will be conducting virtual information sessions for newly-admitted students who were interested in, but not admitted to the Computer Science major at the University of Maryland, College Park. This session will address academic advising offered by LTSC and the University's Limited Enrollment Program requirements for Computer Science. If you would like to attend a session, please REGISTER HERE.
TerrapinSTRONG
TerrapinSTRONG is the University of Maryland’s new onboarding program for faculty, students, and staff. It affirms our mission, culture, and values as a diverse, united, inclusive, and empowered community. All new Terps in Letters and Sciences (LTSC), Freshmen Connection (FC), and Academic Achievement Programs (AAP) are invited to attend Undergraduate Studies’ (UGST) TerrapinSTRONG Events.

Spring 2025
- Jan. 27 - First Day of Classes
- Jan. 27 - Feb. 10 - Mandatory Waitlist Check-in period
- Feb. 7 - End of Schedule Adjustment (Last Day to Add or Drop Classes)
- April 11 - Last Day to Drop with a "W" (1 course/Max 4 credits)
- May 13 - Last Day to Withdraw from the Semester "WW"
